At Cascade Park in New Castle, PA, stands the shell of a carousel building.  Once the focus of townspeople on weekends and holidays during its heyday in the '30s and '40s, it echoed with music and the laughter of children. Now it lies empty, inhabited only by shades of times gone by. 

My mother posed as the foreground figure; it was the last time she posed for me before her death in 1996.
